This is by far the easiest way to gain control of a town/fortress when the rebel lord asks you to whom the newly conquered place goes to. Once you swear alliegence you become part of that rebel faction and be able to recruit those type of faction troops from towns/fortresses under your control and peasants from villages under your/rebel control.
